A LIT UP BIRTHDAY

I had seen an article about  the  Nights of Lights in St. Augustine in the paper a month ago and I told Larry that is what I wanted to do for my birthday. So he made reservations at the Compass RV Resort for four days. On Saturday we got a taxi and went into town. We walked around, ate an early dinners at Harry's and then the town was ablaze of lights.
We wore our masks, except to take this selfie.

It was really decorated.

Another way to see the beautiful lights is from the water on a sailboat.

Larry had made reservation for us to take the Red Trolley Light tour. It left from Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum.

The trolley ride was a slow crawl through town  looking at the lights and singing Christmas songs. One fun thing is they gave us glasses that made elves out of the lights.
This would be a good way to see the lights for a family with children or someone unable to walk very much. You bought your row of seats for $50, so no one else sat with us. It was a good deal for the family in front of us.

Sunday it rained all day for my birthday, but  I really enjoyed being in the RV, playing Rummikub, watching a movie and having pizza delivered. On Monday we took a taxi  to St. Augustine Beach. It was a beautiful day just a little windy. I enjoyed walking in the water.

When we got on the beach we decided to walk to the lighthouse and then get a cab. After walking for 8000 steps we saw the lighthouse but found out we couldn't get to it from the beach. We had to turn around and go on the road where we started.

On the walk back we past the walkway to Anastasia State Park.

We took the walkway to the campground and then down the road to the park entrance where we got a taxi. We went to Black Molly for a steak dinner and then walked 2 miles back to our campground. 20,000 steps in all!!
