BLUEBERRIES

The end of May Larry and I went to Susie Q's in Groveland  to pick blueberries. Jay Schommer is the owner and was very friendly.

The harness to hold the pail made picking very easy.

In no time we had our pails full. The guy in the middle didn't help much.

We picked two pails full at $7 a pound and each pail held 6 pounds.  Enjoying blueberries and froze up a lot for future treats.

AMERICAN GARDENS THEATRE

We left the Christian Film Festival at 4 on Friday so we could go to Epcot and hear Blood Sweat the Tears.  We arrived just as the first show was starting, so we stood in line for the 6:45 show.

Time for a selfie.

This was the main singer. He had been on the Voice. Most of the songs he sang we did not know.
Lot of instrumental music, sax, trombone, trumpet. Not the best show we have gone to,

Monday night we went to hear the Commodores. Our neighbors told us they were going so we were able to make reservations too.

They were real showman. They formed the group in 1968 as freshman at Tuskegee Institute.
They worked the audience well.
Walter Orange was in the audience. He was one of the original members, and wrote a lot of the songs.
The two on the right are his sons.

Tuesday came back from camping at Peace River a day early so we could go to Epcot to hear Mercy Me. Got there in time for the first performance and they announced Finesse would be appearing. I checked my phone and realized I had put down the wrong date, Mercy Me was there on Sunday and Monday.
They  were a good group, modern songs and very energetic. I enjoyed them, but disappointed in missing Mercy Me.

CHRISTIAN FILM FESTIVAL

For several years we have attended the Christian film and music festival held at the Wyndham Hotel in Orlando. This year it was there May 4-7.

Our passes allows us to watch all the movies for the 4 days. There are at least 5 different movies going on in different rooms all day long.

This music video was there but we didn't realize it in time to watch. It was filmed at our church and I even am in it,  if you look quick enough.
There are documentary films. We watched Enduring Faith about Native American Catholics. I never thought about how the Spanish shared Christ  through Mexico and into the South west. It was very interesting.

We watched mostly feature films. We would go in about 9 and stay till 6. We saw all three of these movies. A Match Made At Christmas was sort of a Hallmark film with a little more depth to it. Break Every Chain is a true story about a police officers battle with alcoholism, depression and devasting loss. Larry could really relate and it showed me how hard being a police office can be. A  Whisper in the Fog was about a successful voiceover professional who believes he has made himself what he has become and God has no part in it. Then his career ends when he loses his voice (like Bruce Willis). Then the miracle happens. We liked the first two best.

I Am was about showing  faith with action . A young girl helps many homeless people and develops a relationship with them.
The Man in the Empty Chair was about a family fighting over who was going to get the inheritance, each with  their own selfish reasons. The Pope Drops In was a silly movie about a guy who said he would only become a Christian if the Pope would come to his door and ask him.

I went to  Mount Hideaway Mysteries how a small town veterinarian and crime scene investigator take down a organization that is taking over the town.

Larry went to  My Brothers Crossing. It was a true story about a death of a devout couple who lived their faith. It was based on the book In the Blink of an Eye Forgiveness in Black and White. He liked it enough that he wanted me to see it, so he bought the book and video.

I like musicals so I went to From Patmos. The original musical becomes a stage film featuring Michael Maher as the Apostle John. It reminded me of Sight and Sound productions I have seen. It was well done but got a little long. It was at the end of the day and I was getting tired of sitting.
There are also short films. Larry went and watched a few of these. Lucifer & The Father,

The Choice, and The God Can.

The fun part of going to this event is that after the movie you often  hear from one of the people who had something to do with film, an actor, director, writer. They answers questions and talk about making it, often how long it took to do, the difficulties they had, or what they really enjoyed. Most of these films are still being promoted for public viewing.
I picked up the ad for the movie Family Camp. The Skit Guys do funny video's for Celebrate Recovery(CR) to teach a point like denial or forgiveness. We saw them in person when we went to CR Summit. I knew the movie was being shown in the theaters on May 13. The CR we attend was going to go, but we will be out of town. A woman saw me with the ad and started talking to me about it. She was the woman who did the costuming for it, one of the people in the credits as they scroll by. This movie wasn't here because it will be in the theater, but she had another movie here that she did the costumes for.
There were a lot more movies we didn't see that sounded good, but we were movied out by Friday afternoon. Hope some of these movies get on Amazon, Netflix or in the theater and we can watch them then.
