BUSY WEEKEND

Thursday and Friday were busy setting up for the United Women Faith holiday bazaar on Saturday.
Lot of women came out to help, but there is a lot to put out.

Friday evening Larry and I went to Mineola Charter School to see Once Upon A Mattress.
The costumes, scenery, choreographing and singing was well done. Cute story and great job by middle schoolers.

Saturday was the bazaar.
Much to be sold.
Everything looked great.

A beautiful quilt had been made to raise money for churches in Ukraine.
All of these canned goods were sold.
Saturday Joel Raney came and worked with the choir and on Sunday afternoon put on a beautiful concert. He is a compose, and pianist and arranges music for choirs.
He is a beautiful pianist and the choir sounded terrific.

Kate Nichols, DMA on the flute performed with him. She grew up at our church.  It was a great concert and if you want to enjoy it was streamed on YouTube.

HITCHING POST

We got up bright and early Wednesday morning to take the new car and RV to the Hitching Post in Ocala to have a tow package put on the car.  We had to be there by 8:00 and it is about an hour and half  drive. Haven't driven before the sun is up for a while.  We were there by 7:30.

By 3:00 the car was ready. The RV was already tow ready. The Blue Ox towing system attached.
Plates on the car ready to hook up.
Brake system put in and explained how to install it. A push of a button talks you through it.
Hitch for a bike rack on the back of the car.

Ready to go. We were back home by 5. Glad we didn't have to stay overnight for they were calling for the temperature to be in the 30's in Ocala by morning.

NEWSBOYS

We had reservations at Epcot on Monday.  We were ready to leave the house at 3:30 when it started to thunder, lightening,  really windy and pouring rain. We got soaked just getting into the car, so we decided not to go.  By 4:30 the sun was out, so we went. We wanted see the Newsboys.

We were 15 minutes late for the first show but heard him sing God's Not Dead, and I Believe. We had just watch the movie God's Not Dead.
We got in line for the second show.  It was a pretty evening, The fountains for the Harmonious night show were working while we stood in line. We enjoyed talking to the people behind us as we waited. We noticed the people we met were all local.
We sat right up front for the second show.

It was a good concert and nice evening. We were glad we went.

BIRD ON ROOF

FOOD DROP

Friday morning Well of Hope had a food drop in the Four Corner Area.  Second Harvest brings a big truck and drops off the cases of food at 9 o'clock.

There were 35 volunteers to pack and distribute the food, direct traffic, and load cars. They really need about 50 volunteers, but were glad for those who came out to help. It has been a few months since I have worked at the food drop. The summer is way to hot for me to help. It was warm but not too hot today. Pastor Michael led us in a prayer before we started loading cars.

The lady in the visor is Geneva, she always comes to help. She usually helps with the cases of water,  breads, sweets, and snack foods.

I worked on the bags of potatoes. This is about half of the pile of 50 pound bags of potatoes. They have to be ripped opened and divided up, giving each family about 10 pounds. It took from 9:00 to noon. I was ready to go home.

The blue boxes were mushrooms.  So we packed boxes with potatoes, avocados, apples, celery, and cabbage. There were cars lined up when I arrived at 8:30 and they started loading cars at 10.
Meat, pasta, fruit cups, and I think a whole box of beans and rice were also given. About 175 cars went through and feed about 300 families. There is a great need in this area and I am sure all over.

HOYA IN BLOOM

I have had this plant for a couple of years. A friend gave me a cutting from her plant.  I have burnt it in the sun, it has had aphids, but it survived and now has beautiful flowers.

ANIMAL KINGDOM

The weather since the Hurricane has been perfect, Beautiful blue sky, low humidity, and temperature in the 70's or low 80's.  Friday we had reservation to go to Animal Kingdom, the park opened at one.

We talked to a couple from Philadelphia that had gotten married on Saturday and came to Disney for their honeymoon. They were able to go to the parks on Monday and Tuesday, and glad to have two days of rest during the storm. They had lost a car in Hurricane Ida in flooding in Philadelphia last year and honeymooned through Hurricane Ian this year.

Listened to some music.

This bird seemed to be following us.

We were just in time to see the new Nemo show.
I love the puppets and singing. The new show is more of  a recap of the original show. I miss hearing the gulls say bye, bye.

Our timing was perfect to see the  Festival of the Lion King show.

When they opened after the pandemic the monkeys didn't perform.  Sure add a lot to the show.
We left after this show, it was 6 and they were closing at 7.
