PEPPERMINT PATTY

It started when I brought home this puzzle of kittens. Larry said we really needed to get a cat. We had contacted a women on Market Place in April that had some kittens to be adopted. After we thought about it we decided a kitten wasn't the right time or good idea. Three weeks later we called and took one home.

Patty was a little timid, hid behind the toilet the first night.  We kept her in the bathroom the first night.

Next she ventured into the bedroom. This seems to be her safe room. She seems so tiny, only 3 pounds when she went to the vet for her shots.

Didn't take her long to find my lap.

She loves to play. She has spent hours playing with this toy. There is also a clear plastic lid that she loves to bat, chase and carry around. We spend lots of time finding where she has hit it and can't get to it. Found it in the laundry closet beside the washer today. The door was closed.

While I was on the computer she  finally laid next to Teddy on the back of the sofa.

After all her playing she needed a nap.  She is a very sweet kitty and has won our hearts.

SNAKE, BIRD AND CAT

On Sunday morning while loading the RV to go camping for four days Larry saw this snake at the planter by the house.  Have seen black snakes in the garden before but not this color snake.

We are camping at Lake Griffin State Park in Fruitland Park. We had just set up when this cardinal started flying into our windows. I Goggled it and it said they see their reflection and think it is another bird. They are protecting their home.

Larry put the awning down thinking that would help. No he just sat on the arms and then flew at the windows

He sure is pretty, but he started flying against our back window this morning at 6 am. An unusual wake up call.  He kept it up for at least two hours. I am afraid he will knock himself out.
There are also three cats camping beside us. I wonder were they live?  We have car prints all over the car. Larry said they were sleeping under our car when he went out last night.

HAIL

April 25 about 5 pm we heard a strange noise on the roof. We looked outside and hail was covering the ground and hitting the roof.

It hailed for about 15 minutes, making piles of ice on the grass and around the plants.  My car was protected enough that it was not damaged. Our solar panels and 3 year old roof survived.  It was something to see the steam coming off the ponds all evening and the leaves off the trees covering the roadway the next morning.

LOVE AND LAUGHTER

Saturday night we went to Love and Laughter show in Clermont. It was a fund raiser for Find, Feed and Restore for domestic violence housing and families with children.  Marc Rubben was the comedian ventriloquist. He drew thIS picture and then it talked.
His Jamaican friend,
and his hill billy friend.

It was a fun show and I hope raised a lot of money for Find, Feed and Restore. We took a tour last week of the new properties they have purchased to restore and build housing for women and children that are homeless or escaping abuse. It is a great ministry, that we have supported for years.

CHRISTIAN FILM FESTIVAL

May 4th and 5th we went into the Wyndham Hotel on International Drive for the International Christian Film and Music Festival.  It is the third year we have attended. We like it because you get to hear from writers, producers, actors. How the movie was made. Why the movie was made.
We watched about 10 movies in the two days. We saw Love and Secrets. It was only the first episode. They were getting feed back from the audience about what they thought they should do. Make it a full length movie or make it into a series. I think kit may be a series.

We also saw Daddy Daughter Trip. I think you can buy it at Walmart. It was quite funny.

We saw Family Camp last year. I am not sure why it was back because it has been in the theater already.

Amazing Gracie was a good story and Gracie did an amazing job. It was her first full length film. She had done some commercials.

Bringing Back Christmas was a different look at the Christmas story.

Broken was a heavy film about abuse and running away.

I Can  was a true story about a girl born with one arm that plays softball and earns a scholarship to college.

It is an inspirational two days.

EASTER SUNRISE SERVICE

Larry and I went to Sea World for Easter Sunrise Service Sponsored by Z88.3. It is the Christian radio station I listen to and support in Orlando. They have had the Sunrise sevice here for 40 years but this was the first time we have come.

This is the Bayside Stadium where they service was held. We had left home at 5:15 and arrived about 5:45. The gate opened at 5:00, the stadium was full. We were in the overflow stadium. 10,000 people attended.

The overflow sat at the Ocra Stadium. We watched the whales  swim the whole time.

And watched the service on the screen.

The stands were filled. People to our left,
People to our right.
The DJ's welcomed everyone and read the scripture.
Evan Craft lead the worship. I know his song Fight On My Knees.

Tedashii a Christian Hip Hop artist had the message.
It was a cloudy day so not a bright sunrise. Getting out of the parking lot was a little challenging but once we got on 4 it wasn't bad.

CATBOAT ESCAPES

For Larry's 75th birthday I gave him a 2 hour Cat Boat Escape. I saw it advertised on Facebook. He chose to do the sunset trip. It left at 5:30 from Cypress Cove Marina in Clermont.
Our guide took us out across Lake Minnehaha. It was a little windy and choppy.
There were five boats. Two people on each boat. Larry was the driver of our boat. Up and back  with the right hand for speed. The left hand steered. Up to go right, back to go left. It took some work. We went pretty fast across the lake, up to 25 miles an hour. He was to stay 100 feet from the boat in front and in its wake.
Going slower through the Palatlakaha River and the Crooked River was more relaxing.
We had fun just driving where ever we wanted to on Lake Susan.
It was little cloudy so not much of a sunset.
Wind blown and wet but it was a fun experience to celebrate his birthday. One we wont forget.

FLOWER AND GARDEN FESTIVAL

We went to Epcot for the Flower and Garden Festival on April 17.The topiary displays are amazing.
We went in earlier then usual to walk around the park and see them all.
The weather was perfect.

The crowd wasn't too bad.

We go to listen to the Garden Rocks Concerts.

He was a little loud.

But he sure knew how to work the audience.
Larry likes the Hooligans. We saw them last year, so we went back to Epcot on April 26 for their concert.
They are a local British Rock band.
Every member was highlighted.
What a sax player.
She is high energy. We watched two of their sets.

We enjoyed a little desert.

We rode the Skyliner just for fun.

We park at the Boardwalk Resort instead of going into Epcot parking area. The Skyliner goes right over the Boardwalk parking lot. That is our silver Prius. It is nice we live so close and can in any weekday we want to.
