FLAGS UP

 Larry just put up the flag pole we got at the NOMADS auction in September. First we had to get permission from the HOA. Then he designed how to make it secure, put in some lighting, get the flag to turn and finally plant some flowers around it. 

A week ago the sand hill cranes walked their babies around the yard. 

COMMUNITY OF FAITH

 After the First United Methodist Church in Clermont disaffiliated  we have been attending Community of Faith  UMC in Davenport. Sunday, February 4th, they had the Sunsations steel drum band perform during the service.

It is a  group of seniors from Apollo Park, a campground close to where we live. The group is made up women and a few men. One of the woman belongs to the church.

They put a little concert on before and after the service.

It gave me a whole new appreciation of steel drum music.

On March 9th I attended Community of Faith's 12th Annual Women's Retreat at Warren Willis  Camp in Fruitland Park. 36 ladies were there.  The theme was Creation Care.  Tracey and Sandra lead the singing- God of Wonders, This is my Father's World and many others. 

Sara Nussel was the guest speaker.  She goes by the name of Eco Gal. We learned a lot about taking care of the creation;  how to compost, green products to use. 

She had been a music director and has written songs and musicals. 

The day was full with line dancing (I taught) prayer walk, birdhouse painting, Bible study and Communion.  It was an excellent retreat.

ENTERTAINMENT

 

One day in the beginning of January we went into Animal Kingdom in the afternoon to walk around, take a safari ride and see the Lion King.

Always have good seats  we even didn't have to  wait in line very long,

At the end of January we attended the play Mean Girls,Jr at Aurella Cole Academy. It is new school for students up to 8th grade.in Clermont  It was a good show and the staff was very proud of them. Amazing talent these young boys and girls have.

We went into Epcot a few times in February for the Art Festival.  At the Garden Theater  There was broadway talent singing Disney's hits from the shows.

The end of February we went into Animal Kingdom to go to Finding Nemo: The big blue and Beyond.

We had seats right up front. We could really see the actors and how they work the puppets.

This is my favorite show.

It is nice we can just run in to Disney in the afternoon for a few hours.

I never get tired of seeing the show over and over.

They have stopped having us make reservation to go in so we can just go when ever we have a few hours. 
 

RV UPDATES

December 20 we had Three Lions Upholsry from Lakeland came to our house and took out the benches to our dinette in the RV. The leather covering had been peeling off and they were horrible. 

They also took the drivers and passenger seats. 

Jan 20  they came and installed our newly covered seats.

So we can be back on the road again.

We thought we would camp locally at the end of January, but when we got ready to leave the refrigerator stopped working. We took it to Camping World in Kissimmee and had a new one installed. Of course they had to order it and it took over a week.

The end of February we went to Southern Palms in Eustis, FL just an hour away and camped for four days. It is part of our Thousand Trails membership so camping is free. We were glad to be able to get a reservation since this is snowbird season.

We enjoyed playing shuffleboard on their well maintained courts. It was a good little get away.

As we were driving around in Eustis right behind the Methodist church I saw this sign.  I knew about Forward Paths and what this was all about right away. Forwards Paths focuses on homeless youth and those  who are aging out of foster care at age 18. This is one of the missions that the United Methodist Women in Clermont supported. That is how I knew about the 10 tiny homes they were building.

They are not quite finished yet, but they just started building them the end of January. 

 I was excited to see them.
