WEDDING

 March 4th we went to the Lakeside Inn at Mount Dora for Tommy's and Gloria's wedding. He is a friend of Larry's from Celebrate Recovery at our church. They are a special couple. The wedding was in the courtyard by the inn and done in English and Spanish. Most of Gloria's family lives in Venezuela, Brazil or Columbia and were not there, so they telecast it to them. Here is Tommy's and Gloria's first dance, she was a beautiful bride.

 The DJ did a great job.  He wanted to get to know the couple better, so he had them each hold one of his shoes and one of her shoes. He then asked them a series of questions,  like Who is the better kisser? Then they had to hold up the shoe they felt correctly fit the answer to the question. Of course they couldn't see each others response. It was a cute activity.

BOAT TOUR

 We heard some ladies at church talking about the boat tour they had taken at Winter Park and how nice it was, so Lynda and I decided to go. For $14 dollars we had an hour long narrative boat tour.

 The boats go out every hour, and there wasn't just one boat but four.

 They tour three lakes and tell about all the old and new homes along the shore, and of course about Rollins College.

 The cormorants  were working together to push the fish to the shallow waters, and of course other birds  flew in for the feast.

 The Villanova women's scull team were on the lake practicing.

 The lakes are connected by canals.

It was a cloudy day with a few light showers. We made it back to dock before we got too wet. It was a very interesting tour.

DISNEY EXPERINCES

Peggy, a friend from church, had worked at Disney for many years and offered to use one of her passes to take Lynda to Animal Kingdom. Lynda and Peggy on the tram going to Animal Kingdom.

 The Tree of Life, We watched the Bug's Life and saw the tree illuminated at night. There are over 300 animals carved into the tree.

 A beautiful flock of macaws flew in.

 We watched some street entertainment and saw the musical Nemo.

 We enjoyed the Safari ride in the late afternoon. We had a very informative guide and saw lots of animals. This is an interesting tree that looks like it grows upside down.

 The River of Light show had just started at Animal Kingdom this week. We weren't able to get a seat to see it but were able to watch from a bridge. I will have to go back and get a Fast pass to watch it from the bleachers.

 It had a slow start but got much better. Very pretty.

 Another day Lynda and I went to Disney Springs. We did a little shopping and lots of walking. I love the Lego shop. It is amazing what they have made from Legos, like this sea serpent. They have cards on some of the displays telling how many million legos were used and how many hours of time it took to make them.

 We celebrated Lynda's birthday a few months early by taking her to Epcot. We weren't be back in PA in time for her birthday this year. We had fast passes for Spaceship Earth and Soaring.

 It was Epcot's Flower and Garden festival.

 We walked through the butterfly house.

 Gardens were beautiful.

 Lots of cute topiaries.

 At 5:30 we went to hear Dennis DeYoung.

Larry enjoyed him enough to go and see his 6:45 show. Lynda and I walked around some more of the countries. We then ended the day with the fireworks.

ENJOYING LIFE

 We celebrated our 14 anniversary at the Waldorf Astoria Bull and Bear restaurant.

 We ended a delicious meal with some special desserts. I had creme burlee.

 We then went to Cirque Du Soleil.  We went a few years before, but it is such an amazing performance we enjoyed seeing it again. We had great seats right by the stage.

 Another great play at the Garden theater in Winter Garden. We went opening night and really enjoyed the musical.

 I needed more wheels then my Cricket golf cart, so we got this 2008  VW New Beetle for me to run around in.

 My sister, Lynda came to spend a month with us. Godiva is giving her some cat love since she is missing her two cats.

 Our palm trees had a hair cut.

 We needed new grass along the side of the house.

 Great replacement job.

I was busy this month planning the NOMADS Florida Gathering on February 17. It went very well.
So add my line dancing, Larry's golfing, Celebrate Recovery activities you see we are always busy with something. It is a great life.

A UNIQUE CHRISTMAS

 We bought a live tree from the youth group at our church and have had it in the house all of December. Presents kept appearing under the tree, awaiting the arrival of my son and sister. They left Philadelphia on Wednesday night at 9 o'clock and drove until reaching VA before stopping for the night. Thursday the traffic was stop and go (mostly stop) all the way through the Carolinas, so they arrived at our home at 10:30 Thursday night.

 Saturday we spent the day getting meals ready and doing some last minute shopping and then decided to have dinner and open presents. We have never opened presents on Christmas Eve before. That is not a real fireplace behind my sister it was on Netflix.

 I was able to hide this box from Larry all month with help from friends storing it at their house until he went golfing one day and then a friend helped me get it to our house. I wrapped it and put it in the corner of this room with an afghan over it and the rocker in front of it. He never saw it since it is not a room he goes into often. It is a new desk chair.

 Christmas we all went to church at 10:00 and then we drove to Gainsville about 90 miles north to the Paynes Prairie Preserve to see alligators in the wild. Larry and I had been here when we did a project in Gainsville a few years ago.

 Bob loves seeing alligators when he is in Florida. Do you see the one he is taking a picture of?

 Look at all of  them on the other bank. We must have seen over 100.

Also so lots of birds.

 Unfortunately the alligator saw this bird too. It amazes me not more end up this way.

 At the end of our mile and 1/2 walk down the trail there were thousands of sand hill cranes. At least it sounded like a thousand.

We then had a tail gate meal of shrimp, cheese, crackers and hummus that I had brought along for our Christmas day lunch.  We toured the Villages on our way home and then I made Christmas dinner. I had cooked the turkey on Friday. After dinner we played a game, so it was a very different and enjoyable Christmas Day with family.

 Monday we went over to Disney in the evening and road the monorail to the Contemporary Hotel where we could watch the fireworks over the Magic Kingdom. Bob takes great pictures with his phone. That is space mountain in the background.

 The castle, sorry no pictures of the fireworks but they were beautiful.

Bob and Lynda left on Tuesday morning and drove straight home arriving at 1:45 on Wednesday morning, 16 hours later. It was a great visit and glad they came down.
