SUMMER TRIP

On July 9th Larry and I left to drive to Hendersonville, TN for Celebrate Recovery Summit.
We stopped and toured Ruby Falls on the way. It is a 145 foot high underground waterfall near Chattanooga.
When we arrived at Hendersonville we toured Rock Castle. It was the home of General Daniel Smith who surveyed the boundaries for Tennessee.
The house is made out of limestone block,  so Indians could not burn it down.  It was built soon after the Revolutionary War.  We had an interesting guided tour of the building.
The Summit started on Wednesday with a concert by Plumb.
Hosanna Poetry is a spoken word artist, sort of rap, performed several times. Interesting messages and testimony.
The skit guys are great, funny and get a good point across. We watch them on video at CR on Thursday night, but it was fun seeing them in person.
John Baker, the founder of Celebrate Recovery was there. He is fighting cancer, so keep him in your prayers.
John Ehlund was one of the speakers. He addressed the opioid epidemic with + 1 more. There are about 200 deaths a day from this.  CR is the largest Christian recovery community in the country.  Seek, Save, Celebrate.
There were many more great workshops and speakers. King and Country gave a concert. It was a very informative, motivating three days. I thank our church for giving Larry and I, plus 5 others, the opportunity to attend.

We left TN and headed for PA. By Sunday we were in a cabin at Circle M near Lancaster, for a week.
Mystique and Eric were able to come and stay with us for three days. This is the first we got to spend some time with our grandson, Hunter.
The girls were ready to go swimming.
On Wednesday we went to Hershey Park. Only Ashtyn and Alivia went along. Mystique's grandmother came to the cabin and watched Howie and Hunter.
 Ashtyn enjoyed some rides.

We all rode the Skyview. They also had some fun at the waterpark. Alivia likes roller coasters so her dad and she went off for some adventures.
Mystique and Ashtyn had their face painted.
I am glad we went to Hershey this Wednesday for the following week it was flooded out.
We returned from Hershey and Larry and I headed out to see a Barnstormer game.
Look who we spotted in the stands. Our oldest grandson, Brady. and his fiance. It was nice chatting with them.
On Sunday Larry went to Brian's overnight so he could go to some appointments at the Lebanon Veterans hospital before he drove back to FL.
I went to my sister's and Bob took us out to Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse in King of Prussia.
It was a celebration for Mother's Day and Lynda's birthday. Unfortunately I was getting sick. I was to help at Lynda's church with VBS for the week but by Wednesday I had laryngitis and had my first visit to urgent care, coughing and asthma.
Saturday we went to Wildwood Crest for a week at the shore. Sunday was the one day I went to the beach, coughing and no energy, I went to Urgent Care again on Tuesday, got two breathing treatments.
I did go in the water on Sunday, and I did go to the beach on Friday for a few hours. I had lost my taste so I didn't even go out to eat or enjoy any of the things we like when at the shore. At least I had time to lay around and rest.
We came back to Lynda's on Saturday and Monday I went to my own doctor in Lancaster, but it is a practice and didn't get an appointment with my usual doctor. Doing better, more medicine.
By the end of the week I was up to helping Lynda around the house a little, getting the walls ready to be painted and cleaning out cabinets of old dishes. Now what to do with the dishes, so I may had made more of a mess for her.
She is getting rid of the dining room set we have had since we were children. I went shopping with her to pick out a new table and buffet. Now what to do with the set of Haviland dishes and all the beautiful cut glass? Sometime you just have to be in the mood to clean out and get rid of things. Just wish we could find them good homes but nobody wants these any more.
I flew back to Florida Monday August 13th. My flight was to leave at 9 pm. We left at midnight.Larry picked me up at 3am.
I have been to my doctor here. My lungs are great, but all the medication cause acid reflux so I am on medicine for that now and if I am not better in 3 weeks I will go to a specialist and have my vocal cords looked at. Good to be home.
