HEADED HOME

We decided to head back to Florida on Saturday, May 30th. We use  WAZE on our phone for directions and it had us turn left out of the campground and head to Maryland. Usually we turn right and go 30 to 83 and 695 around Baltimore and Washington D.C.  I realized  right before we got on 95 that WAZE had us going through the tunnel in Baltimore. An RV can not go through the tunnel. So after some back roads and map searching we figured out if we got on 95 and took 695 east (long way around) to get on our usually route we would be OK.  A rather stressful start. Traffic wasn't bad until we were around Washington and in Virginia. It was bumper to bumper and slow, but not stopped and after several miles cleared up for the rest of the trip. I have now driven the RV about 200 miles, just enough that Larry knows if I would have to I could.
We stayed in a Walmart in VA on Saturday night. It was rather hot sleeping.Found out our refrigerator is not working on gas.  So Sunday we stopped in GA at exit 58 and camped for the evening.
We had a nice lakeside view.

We left Monday morning and headed into Florida. We weren't sure what to expect for we saw cars back up for over 3 miles at the checkpoint a week ago.
COVID-19 checkpoint was 1 mile ahead. No backup. We went right in, a few cars stopped ahead. Two lanes to go through, we went to the right only two cars. Stopped, asked us where we had been. Told them PA. They said fine have a good day and off we went. A five minute delay. Larry said it was faster  then getting into Universal. We are glad we took the trip and glad to be back at the house.
