SUSQUEHANNOCK STATE PARK

April 30 we went to Susquehannock State Park and hiked the rhododendron trail. I spent 7 months doing physical therapy after we hiked this trail in August.

This time when we came to the water we went back up the same trail. We did not climb up and down rocks for another hour.

There were a lot of little pretty flowers along the trail.
but the rhododendron only were in bud.

We went to one of the overlooks

Then we went to Muddy Run Park and enjoyed visiting the observatory and nature center. This solar flower supplies the electricity for the center.

May 13 we took the hike again.
I thought the rhododendron would be in bloom and it would be beautiful.
But this is what they looked like.

The rhododendron in peoples yard looked like this, that is what I was expecting. Was I still too early or is this a different kind?
